Greetings and welcome to the gawdless website, where we:
-
Call bullshit on religion – it is completely fallacious. We don’t believe that the “pious” actually believe the idiotic buy bull stories. It’s fear. It’s fear. Nothing but fear of disease, fear of a myriad of disasters and, ultimately fear of death. “Faith” based on lies and relentless fear-mongering.
-
Delve into the myriad evils foisted on mankind by organized religions (it would require volumes to document all of it).
-
Recount the unholy alliance between the christian church and fascist, totalitarian regimes throughout history. Since “believers” constitute the most cohesive and motivated segment of the American electorate their views and prejudices influence almost every decision of national importance. And we now know where that has taken the U.S.
As we will see, the history of christ-insanity is principally a story of mankind’s ignorance and misery rather than of its requited love of gawd. Religions were created to control and subjugate the masses, not for their benefit. Suffer in this (the only) life for the reward of eternal bliss. Violent, irrational, intolerant, allied to racism and tribalism and bigotry, invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry, contemptuous of women and coercive toward children – organized religion is little more than Hate Clubs for the fearful and the ignorant.
Sigmund Freud, commonly referred to as the father of psychoanalysis, discusses religion's origins in his 1927 book The Future of an Illusion. Freud believed that religion provided a type of quid pro quo since it compensated men for suppressing their murderous and carnal instincts by reconciling them with the terrors of nature and inevitability of death.
Fear fear fear – without fear (especially fear of death) the influence of faith-based religions would be unthinkable.
Religion has run out of justification. Thanks to the telescope and microscope it no longer explains anything important. Where once, by a total command of a worldview, religion prevented the emergence of rivals, it can now only impede (or retard) the measurable advances achieved without it.
We are entering an incredibly dangerous time as the United States regresses into a fascist, totalitarian system of government. To be part of a totalitarian mind-set it is not necessary to wear a uniform or to carry a club. It is only necessary to wish for your own subjection and to delight in the subjection of others. As promised by the “winning” political party in the 2024 election - the urge to ban and censor books, silence dissenters, condemn outsiders, invade the private sphere and invoke an exclusive salvation was a “winning” ticket.
We need a renewed Enlightenment that contains the pursuit of unfettered scientific inquiry, the divorce of sexual life and fear (and guilt) and one that allows unimpeded individual personal (and intellectual) development. All this can be achieved if religions are excluded from the discourse.
To escape the gnarled hands that reach out to drag us back to the catacombs and reeking altars and guilty pleasures of subjection and abjection we must banish all religions!
To get us started, let’s present our principal arguments against all religions.

1. First and foremost, religions are a priori fraudulent.
The pagan myths and fables that underpin all religions are absurd, ludicrous and idiotic, puerile and downright silly. Stated another way, it’s all bullshit! Religion is man-made.
Even the men who crafted it cannot agree on what their prophets or redeemers or gurus said or did. Still less can they hope to tell us the “meaning” of later discoveries and developments which were, when they began, either obstructed or denounced by their religions.
2. Next, because religion has been weaponized and used to justify every manner of pernicious, inimical acts throughout recorded history.
A.
Throughout history, religious differences have been a significant factor causing myriad conflicts and wars. Due to the complexity of conflicts, overlapping motivations and varying interpretations, it’s impossible to provide a precise number of wars directly attributed to religion. However, religion has undoubtedly played a role in numerous historical conflicts throughout human history. Some well-known examples include the Crusades, the Thirty Years’ War, purging of the Huguenots in France, conflicts (still ongoing) in the Middle East and sectarian violence in places like Northern Ireland. It’s important to note that while religion can be a significant factor in conflicts, other factors such as politics, economics and social issues contribute as well.
B.
Religious beliefs have often been used to justify discrimination and persecution against certain groups (religious minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals and others deemed “heretical” or “impure).” Seriously, the irrational, unwarranted and totally undeserved obsession with transgendered people (yes they are people like the rest of us) is a prime example.
C.
At various points in history, religion institutions have suppressed scientific knowledge that contradicted their doctrines, leading to periods of intellectual stagnation and hindering scientific progress. And they’re still trying to dumb-down the masses in order to maintain control.
D.
Religious beliefs have been used to justify human rights violations including slavery, forced conversions, genital mutilation, honor killings and the subjugation of women.
3. Finally, because religion stymies individual emotional and intellectual development.
“Believing” in religious dogma diminishes, or removes entirely, the most basic natural right of human beings – the ability to impact their destiny by using their innate intellect to form opinions as to how the world operates.
“Believing” in the bullshit that is the entirety of every religion stymies one’s intellectual development and thus one’s ability to achieve their social, economic and interpersonal potential. Religion cuts the feet from under those who succumb to the concept of predestination found in the buy-bull.
Before going further allow us to affirm that we can spell words correctly. Also, note that we confine this site to the Christian religion, which we know better than we do other, competing religions. In order to mock christ-insanity we refer to “jesus” as gee-zus. We refer to the “bible” as the “buy-bull” and we refer to “god” as “gawd”. The most basic statement we make is that “gawd is a fraud”.
This piece is full of derision, ridicule, scorn and contempt for any and all things associated with christ-insanity (and by extension to any religion). This site is replete with mockery, contempt and disdain for all things religious. And for anyone who believes (or more likely pretends to believe) in any religion.
We’ll look briefly into the disastrous situation that christ-insanity has brought us at the end of 2024. In the ultimate irony, the convenient idiot and poster boy for today’s christfascist movement (whom I refer to as diaper boy) has been re-installed in the White House. One is hard pressed to find anyone that is more antithetical of traditional Christian values.
We prefer to think of the christofascists in terms of the following meme (showing of course the “important” matters they focus on):

Our primary task in this endeavor is to identify those beliefs that seem least likely to survive another thousand years of human inquiry (or those most likely to prevent it) and subject them to sustained criticism and, ultimately, rejection. Judging from the results of our most recent election, however, one must wonder if the nonstop repetition of heinous, repressive dogma has not dragged the United States back into the fourteenth century.
Unreason is now ascendant in the U.S. – in our schools, in our courts and in each branch of the federal government. Only one fourth of our population believes in evolution; three fourths believe in angels. Ignorance of this magnitude, driven by christofascists, is now a problem for the entire world.
